Former European Green Capitals to host webinar on how to ‘future-proof’ your city

On 12 June at 14:00, the European Green Capital Network – a network of all the former European Green Capital Award winners and finalists – will welcome all cities and interested parties to its Future-proof webinar. This event is free to attend and offers guidance, insider tips and the opportunity to learn and exchange experiences on cities becoming more resilient towards climate change.

The webinar accompanies the launch of the ‘Future-proof Toolkit’, created by the Network, which includes case studies, videos and information resources for cities looking to become fit for future generations. This is the first in a series of five toolkits that will be released on different themes, and which aim to guide cities to become more sustainable.

The case studies covered in the Future-proof Toolkit showcase four ICLEI Members’ initiatives: Oslo (Norway)’s storm-water management strategy, Nijmegen (The Netherlands)’s citizen-led approach to reducing flood risk, Hamburg (Germany)’s plans to build 100 hectares of green roofs, and Lisbon (Portugal)’s green infrastructure programme.

As in the Toolkit, the webinar will not only highlight the cities’ achievements, but it will also present the challenges faced. After all, by working collaboratively and sharing insights, cities can better move forward together.

Webinar panellists will include city representatives and experts on nature-based solutions.

Register here for the Future-proof webinar taking place on 12 June at 14:00 CET. Please note the change of date (this was originally planned for 22 May).
