Gain european recognition for your sustainable mobility work with EU Urban Road Safety and 10th SUMP Awards

Local authorities from across Europe are invited to apply for the EU Urban Road Safety Award, and the 10th SUMP Award. The awards are organised by the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission.

The SUMP award aims to encourage the adoption of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) by local authorities across Europe. Every year, the award follows a different theme, with the theme for this year being “Safe and Healthy with Sustainable Mobility", chosen to reflect opportunities for health and resilience in the face of the hardships of COVID-19.

“Safe and Healthy with Sustainable Mobility '' is also the theme of this year’s EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK campaign - the European Commission’s flagship awareness-raising campaign on sustainable urban mobility.

Past winners of the SUMP Award include ICLEI Members Brussels Capital Region (Belgium), Malmö (Sweden), Bremen (Germany), and Aberdeen (United Kingdom).

The EU Urban Road Safety Award rewards local authorities for implementing measures to improve road safety in the spirit of the internationally recognised 'Safe System' concept.

The application deadline for both awards is 31 October 2021.
