ICLEI workshop to highlight how collaborative climate action is key to a sustainable future

The 2019 International Conference on Climate Action (ICAA2019) kicks off today in ICLEI Member Heidelberg (Germany). The event convenes international leaders, and includes a focus on sustainable cities and communities. Participants will discuss ways to improve coordination between levels of government to strengthen climate change mitigation.

ICLEI has ample experience working in this field. This will be applied to a workshop organised by ICLEI and the National DCP titled, “Supporting Collaborative Climate Action.” The workshop will present insights on how to best address sustainability challenges through collaborative action.

The event will overview options, including mechanisms and approaches, to take advantage of urbanisation in order to achieve sustainable development. In addition, it will highlight the need for multilevel efforts to ensure a sustainable future.

The workshop will, in part, utilise concrete examples, including many projects that centre ICLEI Europe and its Members. Projects including C-Track50, which focuses on achieving urban carbon neutrality by 2050, and Urban-LEDS, with a focus on low emission development, will be used to highlight multilevel coordination and initiatives.

Don’t miss out on this chance to learn from ICLEI experts, projects, and the experiences of our Members.
