Learn how to run adaptive heritage reuse projects

A new set of policy briefs created for policy makers and heritage officers working at the local, regional, and national levels offer recommendations on how to successfully run adaptive heritage reuse projects.

The policy briefs are based on identifying and testing best practices of adaptive heritage reuse in Europe. Findings and collective knowledge have been synthesised into a series of five policy briefs. Each brief addresses a different topic relevant for the adaptive reuse of cultural heritage in Europe.

  • Policy Brief 01: Adaptive Heritage Reuse: Learning from policy and governance frameworks across Europe
  • Policy Brief 02: Collaborative Heritage Reuse: Enabling strong partnerships
  • Policy Brief 03: Financing the adaptive reuse of cultural heritage: Enabling complementary financing instruments for bottom-up initiatives
  • Policy Brief 04: A roadmap for the EU and Europe: Integrating adaptive heritage reuse in wider EU policies, programmes and practices
  • Policy Brief 05: Regional integration of adaptive heritage reuse projects: Strengthening sustainable local development

These briefs have been developed in the context of the OpenHeritage project. ICLEI Europe is a partner in the project, and a co-author of four out of the five OpenHeritage Policy Briefs.
