The programme for the CIVITAS Forum 2019 has been released

The draft programme for the CIVITAS Forum 2019 is now available to read and download. The 2019 edition of Europe’s leading sustainable mobility event will be held in Graz (Austria) from 2-4 October 2019.

With the first Forum having also taken place there in 2003, this year's event has chosen to go 'Back to the Future'. This theme will lead participants to consider: How and why have things changed in the world of transport during this time? What must be done to ensure a continued transition towards sustainable, safe, inclusive and connected mobility? To examine these crucial questions, the Forum will look at the interplay between new technology and classic mobility solutions in the present day.

Through a series of 30 parallel sessions, participants will explore and participate in exchange around these and other urgent transport topics, whilst discovering outstanding work from within and beyond the CIVITAS Initiative.

The Forum includes interactive take-up and transfer sessions that give attendees hands-on exposure to cutting-edge urban mobility tools. Beyond this, leading transport planners and policymakers from across Europe will address attendees in the Forum’s plenary sessions, providing their perspectives on the event’s central theme. The opening plenary will also see the long-awaited launch of the revised EU SUMP Guidelines.

Two sets of site visits will provide the perfect opportunity to see why Graz exemplifies pairing the intelligent application of technological solutions with a citizen-focused mobility vision.

As is tradition, the winners of the prestigious CIVITAS Awards will also be revealed at the event.
