Ukrainian version of “Local Green Deals: A Blueprint for Action” is now available

On January 30, 2024, a webinar will introduce the Ukrainian version of "Local Green Deals: A Blueprint for Action," a pivotal document crafted under the European Commission's Intelligent Cities Challenge (ICC). This initiative aids a network of 80 cities across 18 countries in steering their green and digital transformations through innovative technologies. Amidst the ongoing war, the Ukrainian translation of the blueprint gains particular significance as it aids in aligning recovery strategies with sustainable development goals.

The Local Green Deal: A Blueprint for Action, of which ICLEI is the lead author, provides a comprehensive framework and real-world case studies, intended for cities looking to advance environmentally-conscious transitions through Local Green Deals between municipal authorities and local businesses.

The webinar, accessible in both English and Ukrainian with translation services, is tailored for Ukrainian city officials, local authorities, and business leaders. It will highlight the decarbonisation journeys of two Ukrainian cities, Novovolynsk and Vinnytsia. Vinnytsia, having adopted its Municipal Green Deal Declaration and Road Map in January 2022, will share insights into its sustainability endeavours. Oleksandr Butenko, Deputy Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, and Hubert Gambs, Deputy Director-General at the European Commission’s DG GROW, will offer welcome remarks during the event.

The ICC has thus far facilitated 182 Local Green Deals between participating cities and local businesses, underscoring its commitment to fostering sustainable and digital urban economies.
