Youth aged 18–27: enter visual story competition to win an Interrail pass!

Students between the ages of 18–27 that are enrolled in a Bachelor, Master or PhD programme at an EU institution are invited to share their visions for a sustainable mobility future. This Visual Story Competition will amplify young people’s perspectives as the mobility community moves from the 2022 European Year of Youth to the 2023 European Year of Skills.

Applicants are invited to share a “visual story” comprised of up to five photos and/or illustrations that are accompanied by a short written story line. The visual stories must respond to at least one of the following questions:

  • What would you like to see for the future of mobility?
  • What would you not like to see for the future of mobility?
  • What skills do you need to achieve your dream mobility future?

This is a chance to be creative, and showcase artistic flair!

Five winners will be chosen from the competition, each of whom will win a one month Interrail pass. Plus, their visual stories will be shared widely (with credit), including being exhibited.

All in all, applicants must submit: up to five visuals, an accompanying text of 250–500 words, and a submission form. To learn more about the competition, including guiding questions and information on how submissions will be judged, read the official call text here.

Submissions will be accepted until 27 February 2023 at 17:00 CET.

This competition is being run by the CIVITAS Initiative, one of the flagship programmes helping the European Commission achieve its ambitious mobility and transport goals. The Initiative is currently coordinated by a consortium including ICLEI Europe.
