Asian Cities Adapt

AsianCitiesAdapt

2010 - 2013

The project aims at reducing the impact of Climate Change in target cities in India and Philippines through an integrated and cyclical management approach. In addition, the awareness about the potential risks resulting from climate change is to be strengthened and a knowledge exchange between cities in the target countries is to be fostered. The project is being funded by the German Ministry for Environment, Natural Conservation and Nuclear Safety.

With support of the participating partners, each of the cities will develop its own local indicators for climate change adaptation. This will happen as part of an integrated and cyclical management process and cannot be pre-defined from outside. However, before these processes are initiated at local level, the project team will also develop a range of more general climate impact indicators. These will also refer to the aspects of climate protection and sustainable development even though the main focus will be on adaptation and the reduction of risks.
