ICC Phase II

Intelligent Cities Challenge Phase II

2023 - 2025

The Intelligent Cities Challenge (ICC) supports cities to tackle the twin - i.e. green and digital - transition by developing Local Green Deals (LGDs). It provides them with ongoing advisory support and develops a peer-to-peer community. ICC has outlined the following key objectives:

Supporting cities towards a green and digital transition: ICC supports cities in developing Local Green Deals (LGDs) in collaboration with their business ecosystem. The LGDs will serve as a catalyst for cities to embrace sustainable practices and digital solutions.

Helping cities build capabilities and create impact: ICC understands that true transformation requires the development of capacity and capabilities to make a tangible impact. To achieve this, ICC encourages cities to revamp their internal sustainability management and to form external partnerships (the LGDs) with local businesses. This not only enhances a city's economic competitiveness but also strengthens its social resilience and improves the quality of life for European citizens.

Building a community along the way: ICC recognises the value of collaboration and community building. Through a series of individual and multi-city events, the aims are to create a vibrant network of high-performing cities. This network will serve as a platform for innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
