NBRACER

Nature Based Solutions for Atlantic Regional Climate Resilience

2023 - 2027

NBRACER strives to enhance and foster innovative and tailor-made nature-based solutions (NbS) in the ‘Atlantic Biogeographical Area’ in Europe, building toward a climate resilient future. The project consortium gathers 30 partners representing universities, think tanks, public companies, executive governments, cities networks and associations across six European countries: Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark. Together, the project partners aim to co-design and upscale local place specific NbS in three different types of landscapes: coastal, rural and urban, by involving five demonstrating regions and three replicating regions.

This project will significantly contribute to advance climate resilience both at local and regional levels in the Atlantic Biogeographic Area. The smart packaging of NBRACER products and tools will contribute to disseminate innovative solutions among local communities and beyond regions to accelerate NbS practices to reduce risks related to climate change across rural, urban and coastal landscapes. By providing networking and capacity building opportunities, ICLEI will support the regions in building continental connections. This work will aid development of competencies among local stakeholders and mainstream and upscale innovative NbS solutions in local climate change adaptation actions.
