AEGIR focuses on the demonstration of four renovation solutions packages, designed to be scalable, industrialised, smart, non-intrusive, quick, and affordable, thereby catalysing deep retrofitting activity in the pilots themselves and across Europe in the medium- to long-term. This approach is supported by (i) innovative, industrialized, high performance and non-intrusive multifunctional plug-and-play envelope solutions, (ii) a digital ecosystem of services to improve the whole construction workflow, and (iii) a socio-economic model providing financial schemes and business models at building scale. The solutions are to be piloted in Spain, France, Denmark, and Romania – covering diverse implementation environments (climate, socio-economic contexts, building typologies). The project involves a broad range of actors in the construction and energy management value chain, including local / international SMEs, large companies and public authorities. 

ICLEI Europe leads activities related to replicating AEGIR solutions at the subnational and European Level - including tasks such as capacity building and replication support, identifying and creating / testing financial schemata and tools and proffering recommendations to optimise local and European regulatory frameworks.
