Contribute to climate vulnerability survey for a chance to receive tailored support

While climate change is impacting communities the world over, its impacts will be different in various regions. This means that the climate crisis demands responses from regional policy-makers, who need to understand the specifities of local areas. To this end, individuals from various European regions are invited to complete a survey, which attempts to fill-in the gaps and better assess European regions’ climate vulnerabilities in order to understand their specific, contextual needs and challenges. Furthermore, this study will be used to identify ten regions that are highly “climate vulnerable”, and show interest in receiving tailored expert support.

Survey responses are welcome from all those with experience and interest in sharing insights into the needs and challenges of their European regions. This survey on climate vulnerability is being conducted as part of the European REGILIENCE project, in which ICLEI Europe provides support. Following the completion of the survey, ten regions will be identified, and will gain access to tailored support in the form of region-specific workshops, access to a helpdesk, peer-to-peer mentorship, pilots to test innovative public-private partnerships, and more.

Survey responses will provide a deeper understanding of the needs of regions, will inform future initiatives on climate change adaptation, and will jumpstart efforts to engage with citizens and relevant stakeholders in those regions. Selected regions/entities will furthermore gain visibility as key contributors to a European project, and will be highlighted in its publications.

Leveraging its extensive network of institutions and local governments in the field of climate change adaptation and resilience, ICLEI Europe will help selected regional authorities and agencies to build capacity and develop regional resilience pathways.
