Two new Members have joined the network

We are celebrating two new members who inspire us with their resilience:

Alzira is a city in the Valencian Community of Spain with around 46,000 inhabitants. Situated near the Júcar River, the city is subject to recurring flood risks, which it addresses through innovative, nature-based solutions and sustainable water management. To ensure the decisions are made involving everyone and to ensure resilience, Alzira is also working deeply on citizen engagement. 

As the youngest city in Ukraine, built after the Chernobyl disaster to house the evacuated personnel and employees of Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, Slavutych has a unique heritage and a forward-looking vision. The city is of 21 000 inhabitants is actively advancing a sustainable urban development, focusing on a clean energy transition, community engagement, and resilient infrastructure. By joining ICLEI, Slavutych reinforces its dedication to becoming a sustainable, inclusive, and climate-neutral city of the future.
