Public buyers can upgrade expertise with procurement training

Municipal public buyers can take part in training opportunities designed to improve the administrative capacity of the staff with key procurement functions in European central purchasing. The programme offers a combination of practical and academic approaches, allowing participants to benefit from the extensive knowledge from a variety of organisations and experts in the field of public procurement.

The training programme is offered by the PPE+ Europe strategic procurement training project. A key feature of the project is its provision of direct support services (consulting) to participating organisations, helping those organisations to trigger improvements and optimisations of their procurement functions.

PPE+ Europe is implemented by ICLEI Europe, alongside the Austrian Federal Procurement Agency BBG and EY Romania, on behalf of the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA). It follows the Public Procurement Excellence Programmes 2018-2023, which generated positive feedback from participants, as well as a demand for further training, highlighting the continued relevance to professionalise public procurement.
