ICLEI Members invited to co-elaborate urban climate change solutions at UNIC Congress

This April, diverse urban stakeholders will come together at the UNIC Green Infrastructure Future Summit (also known as the UNIC Congress) to co-elaborate concrete solutions, which can be scaled up throughout Europe and the world, to address the challenges posed by climate change.

ICLEI Europe is supporting the event, and ICLEI Members can access a 20 percent discount to attend.

The Urban Natural Innovation Capital (UNIC) network was developed to bring together stakeholders who can come together to change urban quality of life in Europe. This year’s UNIC Congress will bring together experts and local governments with residents to develop solutions to curb climate change.

The Congress will open with keynote presentations, including one by ICLEI Europe, and then present up to ten concrete, “Real Life Cases.” These cases will be elaborated by participants – to include entrepreneurs, experts, researchers, financiers, NGOs, municipalities and urban planners – in a co-creation lab format, by first identifying the root problem to address, then developing solutions in working groups, and finally creating concrete solutions for urban problems and project designs, including detailing solution financing.

The UNIC Congress is organised by Green4Cities, with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU). ICLEI Europe is a Supporting Association.
