On 19 May 2011 the Province of Genova (Italy), in the framework of the Energy for Mayors project, will host the Genova International Workshop for Supporting Structures of the Covenant of Mayors (CoM). This is the second training seminar for organisations supporting cities and towns in the development of Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAP). The event is a great opportunity for participants to network, share knowledge and examine leading strategies in the creation of lower carbon societies.

Other CoM supporting organisations such as the Province of Barcelona (Spain) will present participants with information on tools and approaches. Topics to be addressed include: data collection challenges, baseline emissions inventory (BEI) development, ways to involve municipalities and stakeholders, the development of SEAP, as well as financials aspects. The CoM Toolbox, which provides best practice manuals and guidance material for Supporting Structures, is accessible here. Comments and feedback are welcome.
