Urban policymakers urged to align their climate strategies with the latest science

Today, a group of sustainability-focused city-networks, associations and non-governmental organisations and international organisations have signed and released an open letter to urban policymakers, drawing their attention to a summary report that condenses the latest science published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

The Summary for Urban Policymakers, provides a comprehensive summary for all those working on urban issues, making it clear that the only pathways that cities and regions should aim for is to constrain global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius rather than 2 degrees.
