Feedback wanted from procurers, AI suppliers and climate change experts

Procurers and organisations interested in acquiring artifical intelligence (AI)-based solutions to accelerate climate neutrality – as well as AI suppliers and climate change experts – are all invited to share knowledge to advance climate change mitigation.

This December (tentative date), a request for tenders will be launched for pre-commercial procurement for AI solutions in the mobility and the energy sectors. In preparation for this, relevant stakeholders are invited to fill in a survey to share their knowledge and shape the upcoming tendering process. This input will be crucial to the development of the project, and will contribute to the variety of selection and award criteria.

Suppliers are invited to fill in the supplier survey by 15 July 2020.

In addition to AI suppliers, climate change experts and procurers are invited to respond to the procurer survey, keeping the common challenge of pre-commercial procurement in mind: the design, development and testing of solutions to reduce CO2 emission and utilise AI as a part of this.

This work is being led by the AI4Cities project, which brings together leading European cities looking for AI solutions to accelerate carbon neutrality. ICLEI Members Helsinki (Finland), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Stavanger (Norway) are working alongside other European cities (six in total), who ask suppliers to provide AI solutions for mobility and energy challenges, which will ultimately contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and meeting their climate commitments.
