RUN is a research project about the linkages between rural and urban areas, and their functional and material interdependencies especially with regard to land use and soil. The aim is to develop an integrated concept for a sustainable rural-urban nexus and embed it in a basket of relevant governance instruments. The results will contribute to overcoming the silo thinking in specialized policy areas. In addition, the project will add to the debate on urban and rural linkages by emphasizing especially the perspective of rural areas.
