TRAILBLAZER Delivery and Servicing Plan Workshop (2)

6 October 2011
Borlänge, Sweden

The TRAILBLAZER project (TRansport and Innovation Logistics By Local Authorities with a Zest for Efficiency and Realisation) aims to showcase existing good practices and promote public sector policy interventions which can bring about a reduction in energy used in urban freight transport. This will be achieved by municipalities, in partnership with their suppliers and the private sector, through the implementation of Delivery and Servicing Plans (DSPs).

During the second TRAILBLAZER Delivery and Servicing Plan Workshop, participants:

• Found out about the TRAILBLAZER Delivery and Servicing Plan Project

• Exchanged and learned about the advantages of Delivery and Servicing Planning

• Found out how to implement policies to reduce energy use and costs and increase efficiencies through procurement, deliveries and freight transport

• Networked with and learned from Project Partners about how to develop your own DSP

In Borlänge, participants learned from the municipality’s model for coordinated food distribution, the methods used to stimulate local economy and examples of successful cooperation with local producers. TRAILBLAZER organisations, a group of advanced local authorities and private sector industry leaders and other participants shared comments and experiences from their ongoing DSP activities.
