What does it take to shed off a coal past and embrace a sunnier future? This is the driving question of webinar organised by TheMayor.eu in partnership with the European Investment Bank and ICLEI Europe.
This webinar is the second of a series of webinars on sustainability, and aims to show the hidden wealth of green energy and inform local authorities about the financial instruments available to them to fund the sustainable transition in their respective energy sectors. It’ll also present cases from cities where the transition from coal-derived energy to one rooted in renewable sources has already happened, and quite successfully.
The event is free with mandatory registration here. Carsten Rothballer, Head of Sustainable Energy Systems at ICLEI Europe, will be the moderator. Among the confirmed speakers are Stefan Krastev, Deputy Mayor of Pernik (Bulgaria) in charge of Economy, Municipal Property, European Integration, Humanitarian Affairs and Digitalization; Massimo Marra, Lead Advisor, Urban & Territorial Development Department, European Investment Bank; Shira Stanton, Program Lead - Local Energy Solutions at Beyond Fossil Fuels; and Kristjan Adamlje, Technical Assistant at Zasavje Just Transition Center.
