There are clear gender differences in the ongoing energy transition, visible both in overall participation in transition, as well as in the gender make-up of energy decision-makers. While comparing gender representation in raw numbers may not be enough, it does point to the fact that those who represent the energy sector do not necessarily reflect the demographics of energy users.

This leaves open a clear need to discuss how to forge opportunities for, and to equip, women and gender minorties to engage in the energy transition. This will, therefore, be a key topic of the webinar.

Furthermore, several energy challenges, from energy poverty to representation at decision-making levels, are impacted by gender. The discussion will thus also convene experts to discuss these barriers and how to overcome them.
