Application deadline for cultural heritage startup competition extended to 6 November

Startups working in cultural heritage are invited to apply to receive access to a mentoring and acceleration programme – valued at €15,000 – to enhance the readiness of their business ideas, including fine-tuning their models, drawing up their business plans, and scouting investors.

The application deadline for startups to join the competition has been extended to 6 November 2020. The top 20 proposals will be selected to go on to the next stage: the Pitch Competition, which will be held in Naples (Italy) from 25-27 November.

The competition aims to support the most brilliant business ideas and promising startups in the field of cultural heritage adaptive reuse, inspired by circular economy principles. It is open to early-stage startups, informal teams and talented innovators working in fields like:

  • cultural, safe and sustainable tourism;
  • creative, cultural education and entertainment industries;
  • heritage communities, social innovation and ethical finance;
  • technologies and materials for circular cities and buildings; and
  • abandoned cultural landscape regeneration.

The five winning projects will access a mentoring and acceleration programme, which will take place from December 2020 to March 2021, and can be followed both physically and/or remotely. They will receive a unique chance to interact with experts, promote their business ideas to public and private investors, accelerate their work, and put their projects on the right tracks.

This unique opportunity is organised by the CLIC project, in which ICLEI Europe is a partner.
