ICLEI partners on World Hydrogen Congress

Update: Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, the Congress has been postponed to 22-23 September 2020.

The World Hydrogen Congress is set to take place 24-25 March in Paris (France).

The event, which ICLEI is a partner to, is the annual meeting place for senior decision makers right across the hydrogen production and distribution value chain.

Consisting of a mixture of keynote speeches, panel discussions and breakout sessions, the event will bring together key leaders from across the sector.

As part of the conference, Carsten Rothballer, Coordinator - Sustainable Resources Climate & Resilience, ICLEI Europe, will moderate a session titled, "Hydrogen roll-out case studies and projects," which will explore hydrogen roll-out strategies in Italy and the Netherlands.

With cities working to reduce air pollution, noise and emissions, innovative hydrogen based technologies are increasingly becoming more popular alternatives for local energy production.

Within the framework of the city and regions interest group of ICLEI partner project EVERYWH2ERE, cities and regions such as Turin (Italy), Kozani (Greece) and Kreis Steinfurt (Germany) are exploring how to replace diesel generators providing energy for construction sites, festivals, harbours and other temporary events, with zero-noise and zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell gensets. Information and experiences gained through the project will also be showcased at the congress.

ICLEI Members interested in attending the event can benefit from a partner discount of twenty percent. To secure the discount, contact iclei-europe@iclei.org
