Two websites managed by ICLEI Europe are finalists for the .eu Web Awards

The CityLoops and CIVITAS Initiative websites, both created and managed by ICLEI Europe, are finalists for the 2022 .eu Web Awards in the “Better World” and “Laurels” categories, respectively. These categories are for websites that represent green initiatives, and pan-European efforts. Among the 821 websites nominated, cityloops.eu and civitas.eu are two of only 18 finalists (three per category)!

The .eu Web Awards, which are hosted by EURid, highlight and celebrate the most effective and impactful websites that end in “.eu”. Finalists are invited to attend the awards ceremony in Mechelen (Belgium) on 17 November 2022, at which the winners will be announced. This year, the winner in each category, selected by the .eu Web Awards Jury, will go home with a trophy, an education package for website management, as well the grand prize: a marketing campaign with a budget of €5000.

The projects

The CityLoops project brings together seven European cities – Apeldoorn, Bodø, Mikkeli, Porto, Seville, Høje-Taastrup and Roskilde – to test out actions that “close the loop” in two sectors that are among the most important waste streams in Europe: construction, and demolition & biowaste. The CIVITAS Initiative is one of the flagship programmes helping the European Commission achieve its ambitious mobility and transport goals. It is a network of cities, for cities. ICLEI led the redevelopment of the CIVITAS website; the current website launched in May 2021 after more than a year of planning and development. Check it out at: https://civitas.eu.
