ICLEI Vice President among German mayors attending 2018 United States conference of mayors

The United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) is currently under way in Washington DC (United States) and is scheduled to come to a close tomorrow, 26 January.

The conference is the largest national mayors association in the United States, which brings together mayors from across the country. The conference convenes two national events twice a year; one winter event scheduled in January and a summer event scheduled in June.

One of the many Mayors to participate in the event includes ICLEI Vice President and Mayor of Bonn (Germany), Ashok Sridharan. Mayor Sridharan will participate in a working session today titled “Climate Change: Today’s Leadership Confronting Tomorrow’s Challenges.”

Alongside Mayor Sridharan, this year’s conference sees a number of German Mayors in attendance, with the Mayor of Münster (Germany), Markus Lewe, the Mayor of Essen (Germany), Thomas Kufen, and the Mayor of Düsseldorf (Germany), Thomas Geisel, representing their respective cities.
